PlayStation Motion Controller Officially Named; Detailed
Since it's debut at E3 2009, the PS3 motion controller has been known by the boring working title 'Motion Controller'. Just a few weeks ago it rumored to be named 'Arc', a trademark and a domain name registration backed up those claims. However, a recent finding of a trademark for the name "Move" threw us for a curveball. Finally all the speculation can end, as the real name for the PS3 motion controller has officially been revealed.
How The PlayStation Move Is NOT A Wii Remote
Kotaku writes: I just played SOCOM 4 with the newly-named PlayStation Move controller. And now I know how the PlayStation 3's motion-sensitive controller is not just a me-too Wii controller.

Fewer buttons: The Move controller is actually even more streamlined than the Wii Remote. Nintendo's Remote still offers/confuses a new player with a d-pad, plus, A, minus, 1 and 2 buttons as well as a home button and B trigger. The Move has its own home button and underbelly trigger, but just five other points of button input. That makes the controller actually feel a little naked and therefore likely even less daunting to a new player - unless they need their controllers to look like TV remotes.
PlayStation Move Gets Its First Wii Port
Kotaku writes: "With the PlayStation Move looking, well, similar to Nintendo's Wii Remote, you may have wondered how long it would take until it was announced a Wii game was being ported to the PS3. The answer? How about, oh, a few hours.

Warner Bros let us know today that The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest, a game previously headed for the Wii (and DS), will now also be making an appearance on the PlayStation 3, "with full support for PlayStation's upcoming motion controller technology"."
IGN: Motion Fighters PS3 hands on
IGN writes:

"During this afternoon's reveal of PlayStation Move, there were a bunch of demos. One after another, an oh-so-cute game that ranged from smushing flying insects to playing table tennis was showcased. Then, Motion Fighter came up in the rotation and the gathering was treated to watching a shirtless dude bash a biker's face in.

When I first started playing, I dropped my hands to my side to see if the shirtless man would, and he didn't. When I put the biker in the headlock and started punching with my left wand, maybe every third punch was registering as an elbow strike on the screen. It definitely wasn't one-for-one, and it was a bit maddening."

Perfect Dark Eurogamer review
Eurogamer writes:

Of all the things I wasn't expecting to stumble across in the XBLA remake of Perfect Dark, Peter Molyneux was quite high on the list. But there he is, the founder of Lionhead, a key creative force behind Populous, Theme Park, and the Syndicate series, waiting patiently in a dataDyne elevator so that Joanna can pop out from a nearby grating and kick him in the head.
Is EA snubbing the Xbox 360?
Over the past few months EA have appeared to be leaning more and more towards the PS3 and away from the Xbox 360.

They are using it more and more as their initial development platform and are then migrating over the 360 while at the same time releasing demo's and beta's on the PSN before the XBLA.

However when it comes to the motion controller stakes it appears that EA is completely freezing Microsoft out.

Final Fantasy XIII: massive screen tearing for PS3 SDTV gamers
Critical Gamer writes: Final Fantasy XIII has been the source of much sniping between Sony and Microsoft fanboys, long before the English language release. Those in the Sony camp may have recently thought that they had 'won', now that it is generally accepted that the Xbox 360 version is inferior on a technical level. This includes the fact that the PS3 version runs at a higher resolution; but this seems to have turned out to be a poisoned chalice.

PSLS writes:

This week's major highlight is Mega Man 10. Other than that, expect plenty of DLC along with the latest episodes of Qore and The Tester. Tonight is Sony's GDC press conference, so maybe something new will be announced last minute for tomorrow's update.
Remember When: Your Systems Were on Life Support?
DualShockers writes: "Remember when you had life support techniques for your video games? And I don't mean blowing into your game cartridges (we've all seen the Facebook fan pages), because as gamers we have gone beyond that. I know I'm not alone in this. Maybe you're one of those people who would spin the disc in their Playstation then quickly close the lid and boot up the power. Or maybe you did something as simple as putting tape on the back of your Game Boy, because you cracked the battery cover. As gamers we know how to go around a problem, and I would like to share some of my life support experiences, and in turn maybe you can leave me with some of your own..."
